ほぼ日本全国に分布する。アカメガシワクダアザミウマに非常によく似るが、触角第3節には2本の感覚錐を備えることで区別できる。詳しい生態は不明。

This species is distributed almost all over Japan. It is very similar to H. brevitubus, but can be distinguished by having two sense cones (1+1) on the antennal segment III. The detailed ecology is unknown.
